2024 Super Bowl Menu

February 10, 2024 by Christina Shoup Leave a Comment

Well… The 49ers vs the KC Chiefs – we hosted a very fun party in Feb 2020 when they last played each other and KC took home the win that time.  I’m hoping it’s a different outcome this time but really I’m just looking forward to a good matchup, the food and Usher halftime show! I’m sure there will be many Taylor sightings, but I just wish they’d (looking at you NFL!) leave her alone and let her support her boyfriend like so many of us have had the honor and joy of doing for our special people.

My daughter texted me a few days ago asking what we were doing for the Super Bowl and saying it was sad she’d not be home. I guess I never thought about it being special for my kids but then I realized I’ve had traditions since they were little and I’m thankful those memories stuck.  One thing I’ve always done for the Super Bowl is to have my kids do a game predictions sheet as well as Super Bowl Bingo – it kept them engaged when they were too little to care about the game and the prizes were always something they looked forward to – while they aren’t little anymore we are still doing this fun tradition. Kinda bittersweet but I heard her fun plans for Sunday and I don’t really feel that badly for her!

Go Niners! Here’s what we are serving for game day:

Layered Mediterranean Dip + Pita Chips – It’s ok to be the one that brings a healthy dip to the party! Homemade or Stacy’s Pita Chips are perfect for scooping, but so are endive leaves

Veggie Platter with Green Herb Dip + Kettle Chips – another dip I’ve made for years. I go full-fat on the dairy here and making it ahead of time is a great idea to let those flavors develop

Spiced Rosemary Bar Nuts – Never any left when I bring these to a party! You can absolutely  serve them room temperature but they are very tasty when they are warm

Nancy’s Chopped Salad – Been a favorite of ours for a long time.  Salad is always a welcome addition to a buffet of snack foods.

Pulled Pork Sliders + Coleslaw + Pickles – A game day favorite! Putting my hubby on the smoker for this one. There are many crockpot and instant pot friendly recipes out there if a smoker isn’t an option.

Berry Cake I will use this recipe and swap out the fruit for blueberries and raspberries. Nice and light, not too sweet treat

Chocolate Chip Cookies – buy or use your favorite recipe! I use a favorite from cooking school

Cheers,

Christina
