Over the years I’ve upped my water game substantially. In fact, it’s probably the number one change I’ve made that has improved my overall health and skin. That said, water can get a little boring sometimes, even with my favorite LMNT Grapefruit electrolyte added. During the summer months I’m always on the lookout for delicious and refreshing beverages that taste great.
I want to share with you a fantastic low-sugar kombucha mocktail recipe that has become one of my favorites this summer. It’s perfect for those moments when you want to enjoy a sophisticated drink without the alcohol or sugar load.
Why I Love This Mocktail
Kombucha is a fermented tea that’s rich in probiotics, which are great for gut health. Recently, I was so excited to find a case of Humm Kombucha at Costco for a great price. The Mango Passion Fruit flavor is a delicious base for a mocktail – it adds a tropical twist that pairs perfectly with the fresh lime, basil, mint, and cucumber. The subtle heat from the jalapeño adds a unique kick that makes it feel like a special treat.

A Better Choice for Your Health
While on a recent trip to Japan, my husband and I enjoyed two very special omakase cocktail experiences. We had the chance to try several low/no alcohol and low sugar beverages, some even having fermented teas as the base. None of these beverages made me feel terrible or disturb my sleep like most alcohol does these days. For me, and perhaps you too, choosing drinks like this kombucha mocktail over an alcoholic or sugary drink can be a wise step towards better health. It’s hydrating, supports digestive health and if you find a brand with under 10 grams of sugar, you can consider that a fairly good choice of beverages. Plus, it’s a great way to still enjoy a fun and tasty drink without the downsides of alcohol.
Cheers to good health,
Christina
